Seneca Falls Central School District Mission Statement

The mission of the Seneca Falls Central School District is to provide quality educational opportunities and experiences for all students in a safe and positive environment that promotes academic excellence.

Promoting Student Success

Seneca Falls CSD is committed to educating the whole child by providing students with academic, social, emotional and behavioral support to achieve excellence in all that they do. Being life-long learners, effective communicators, resilient and responsible citizens who are digitally literate and socially responsible are fundamental goals integrated throughout educational experiences in Seneca Falls. These goals are outlined in our Profile of a Graduate within the Seneca Falls Strategic Plan.

Academic Intervention Services (AIS):

AIS is intended to assist students who are at risk of not achieving the state’s learning standards in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science, or who are at risk of not gaining the knowledge and skills needed to meet or exceed designated performance levels on State Assessments. AIS shall be made available to students with disabilities on the same basis as non-disabled students to the extent consistent with the student’s individualized education program.

Advanced Studies:

The district provides accelerated and advanced learning opportunities for students at the Middle School and the High School. In partnership with Finger lakes Community College and Cayuga Community College, Seneca Falls CSD students are able to earn college credit prior to graduation in specific course opportunities. See the Academic Course Handbook for detailed information.

Project Lead the Way (RIT):

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is designed to engage students in applying engineering, science, math, and technology to solve complex, open-ended problems in a real-world context. Students focus on the process of defining and solving a problem, rather than on getting the "right" answer. They learn how to apply STEM knowledge, skills, and habits of mind to make the world a better place through innovation. Students demonstrate their knowledge throughout the courses by completing activities, projects, and problems using a variety of assessment tools.

Potential to earn RIT Credit applying to all PLTW courses: End of course assessments are online exams. RIT requires that these students receive at least a 6 stanine score on the year-end exam (6=C; 7=B; 8 and 9 = A), and have a class average of 85% or higher. For the students meeting these criteria, RIT awards three semester credits for each of the courses. The cost of tuition is $225 per course and paid for by the student.

Counseling and Student Services:

Our Support Service Providers are committed to serving each student’s educational, personal, vocational, and social needs. The team consists of school psychologists, health professionals, school counselors, social workers, and community partners who serve throughout the school district.
